Privacy Policy

HeroTales provides personalized children’s books to adults purchasing for a child. This notice describes the information we process, why we use it, and the choices available to you.

Information we process

• Contact, shipping, payment-status, and order information needed to complete a purchase.
• Personalization information you provide, such as a child’s name, age, dedication, selected illustration, and—where offered—a photo.
• Security and technical records needed to prevent abuse and operate the service.
• Site usage information through PostHog when analytics is active under your privacy choices.
• Ad attribution and conversion information through Meta when marketing is active under your privacy choices.
• Email address and signup source when you request offers or release updates.

How we use information

We use information to create previews and books, process and fulfill orders, provide customer support, prevent fraud and abuse, send messages you request, improve the service through analytics, and measure advertising, subject to your privacy choices. We do not send a child’s personalization details to Meta or PostHog.

Service providers

We use service providers including Stripe for payments, Supabase for application data and private storage, Resend for transactional or requested email, PostHog for analytics, and Meta for advertising measurement. Analytics and advertising providers operate only when the corresponding category is active under your privacy choices. Providers process information under their own terms and applicable agreements.

Retention and security

We keep order and transaction records as needed for fulfillment, support, tax, accounting, disputes, and legal obligations. Unclaimed personalization assets are scheduled for deletion; paid-order assets are retained only as needed to produce and support the order. We use access controls and private storage, but no online system can guarantee absolute security.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your information, and to opt out of targeted advertising or sale/sharing. You may change tracking choices at any time through “Privacy choices.” We honor Global Privacy Control for marketing opt-outs. To make another privacy request, email support@herotales.io. We will verify and respond as required by applicable law.

Children

The website and checkout are intended for adults, not for children to use independently. A parent, guardian, or authorized adult should provide any child personalization information.

International processing and updates

Our providers may process information in countries other than your own, subject to applicable safeguards. We may update this notice when our practices change and will revise the date above.
